Vauxhall Adam Undervoltage Issue

Hey, I'm having a weird undervoltage issue with my 2012 Vauxhall Adam, gasoline engine, with 85832 km. It's starting poorly, some systems are failing intermittently, lights flicker sometimes, and the battery seems weak when starting. I'm suspecting a heavily discharged or defective battery, but I'm not entirely sure. Any ideas?

Hey, I had a similar issue with my Adam. Intermittent electrical problems are a pain! Have you had the alternator checked? In my case, it was struggling to keep the battery properly charged. Could also be a parasitic drain somewhere.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the alternator yet. Was your issue exactly the same with the weak starts and flickering lights? Did it eventually leave you stranded?

Yeah, pretty much the same symptoms. It didn't leave me stranded, but it got pretty close a couple of times. I'd say get it checked out at a workshop asap just in case. It's better to be safe than sorry!

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! It helped a lot. I took it to the workshop and you were right, it was indeed a defective battery that was causing all the problems. New battery and now it runs like a charm. Cost me around 290€, but definitely worth it!
