Thanks that's really helpful! Had no idea those connections could get so messed up from water damage. Mind if I ask how much you ended up paying for the fix? Also, has everything been working fine since then, or have you had any other heating-related problems pop up? Trying to get an idea of what I'm in for with my Insignia.

Hey again! Yeah, after seeing your question about the cost, I actually paid €155 to get it sorted at my local garage. Honestly, it was money well spent because the heating has been working perfectly since they fixed those dodgy connections. The mechanic did a proper job cleaning up all the oxidation and making sure the new cable connections were properly sealed. I've had zero issues with any of the heating systems since then, mirrors, windows, everything's working like a charm. It's been about a year now, and even through this past winter, no problems at all. Sometimes these Vauxhalls just need a bit of TLC with their electrical connections! If your issue sounds similar to what I had, it shouldn't be too painful on your wallet. Just make sure they check both the main harness and the mirror glass connections like I mentioned before. These cars are pretty solid overall, but those connection points can be a bit finicky with our lovely wet weather!

Thanks for all that info! Just wanted to update you, I took your advice and got it sorted yesterday. You were spot on about the connections! Took it to a new garage in town, and they found pretty much the same issue, corroded wiring connections from water damage. Ended up paying €180, a bit more than what you paid, but they also found and fixed a loose connection in the rear window heating while they were at it. The mechanic was really thorough and showed me all the corroded parts they replaced. Been testing everything this morning, and all the heating systems are working perfectly now! Honestly, such a relief to get this fixed without breaking the bank. The new garage was great too, way better than my last experience. They even applied some extra waterproofing to prevent future issues. Really appreciate your help in pointing me in the right direction. Saved me from probably spending way more at the dealership!

Had the same issue with my 2016 Vauxhall Astra 2.0 CDTI last winter. Mirror heating stopped working, and I got similar fault codes. Took it to my regular garage, turned out to be corroded connections at the mirror base where the wiring harness connects. The old plug was completely oxidized due to water getting in. The fix involved replacing the wiring harness connector and cleaning the connection points. While they were at it, they found that the mirror glass connection was also affected by moisture. It wasn't a major repair job, more of a maintenance issue really. Took about an hour to sort out both sides. The heating worked perfectly after that. Just make sure whoever works on it checks both the main harness connection and the mirror glass connections, as both can be trouble spots on these Vauxhalls.
