Vauxhall Insignia Rough Engine
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Vauxhall Insignia was experiencing a rough engine, stalling at idle, a check engine light, and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion was an ignition coil issue, possibly involving cables or plugs. After checking connections and resistance, a diagnostic confirmed a faulty ignition coil, which was replaced, resolving the problem.

Connections visually okay. No corrosion. Resistance checks normal, but could still be breaking down under load, right?

Correct. It's like a dodgy light switch - works most of the time, but flickers when you need it most. Given the symptoms, and that you've checked the basics, a failing coil is plausible. Best get it on diagnostics - it should pinpoint the cylinder. Workshop time, I'd say.

Diagnostic confirmed faulty coil. 95€ all in. Runs smooth as silk now. Thanks.

I had similar on my old Peugeot, though it was a different beast altogether. Rough running, hesitation, everything. Was like trying to run a marathon with a blocked nose. Did you check the coil pack connections? Any obvious damage to the wiring?
