Vauxhall Vectra AC malfunction

Hi, my 2001 Vauxhall Vectra with a diesel engine has a weird fault. The air conditioning isn't cooling properly, and I'm getting an error. The climate control seems to be malfunctioning, especially for the rear passengers. I suspect it might be something to do with the rear ventilation flap. Any ideas?

Greetings. The symptoms you describe strongly suggest an issue with the rear ventilation flap circuit. It's often the case that a faulty connection can cause such problems. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the rear ventilation flap actuator? A poor connection there would certainly explain the error code and the lack of cooling in the rear.

Thanks for the quick reply. Where exactly is the rear ventilation flap actuator located? I had a quick look but couldn't pinpoint it. Any tips on how to access the cable and plug connections?

Given your description and the potential complexity of accessing the actuator, my cautious advice would be to visit a qualified workshop. It sounds like a defective cable or plug connection is likely. The potential repair cost would be around 95€ and might be worth the investment to save you the hassle of stripping down the dash yourself.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local garage, and you were spot on – it was a loose connection to the rear ventilation flap actuator. They cleaned it up, and the air conditioning is working perfectly again. Cost me 95€, so thanks for the heads up!
