Vauxhall Vectra Anti-Theft Alarm Malfunction

My 2007 Vauxhall Vectra (diesel) with 28798 km is showing an anti-theft alarm malfunction. Error stored, alarm system non-functional. I suspect the alarm system is coded to activate optical locking. Has anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2007 Vauxhall Vectra experienced an anti-theft alarm malfunction, suspected to be linked to the alarm system's coding for optical locking. The issue was resolved by re-coding the system at a workshop. This solution was effective in restoring the alarm functionality.

I had something similar with my Vectra. Is the immobilizer light flashing erratically, or is it just completely dead? Did you check the alarm sensor?

Immobilizer light is normal. No response from the alarm system. Where is the alarm sensor located on your Vectra? Maybe it's a simple fix.

Sounds like a deeper dive than just a sensor. I had the same silence. The alarm control module was fried, likely due to that optical locking issue. Get it checked at a workshop; it'll save you headaches.

Confirmed alarm system coded to activate optical locking. Re-coding at the workshop sorted it. Cost me 45€. Thanks for the pointer.
