Immobilizer light is normal. No response from the alarm system. Where is the alarm sensor located on your Vectra? Maybe it's a simple fix.

Sounds like a deeper dive than just a sensor. I had the same silence. The alarm control module was fried, likely due to that optical locking issue. Get it checked at a workshop; it'll save you headaches.

Confirmed alarm system coded to activate optical locking. Re-coding at the workshop sorted it. Cost me 45€. Thanks for the pointer.

I had something similar with my Vectra. Is the immobilizer light flashing erratically, or is it just completely dead? Did you check the alarm sensor?
