Vauxhall Vectra Headlight Washer Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Vauxhall Vectra with a gasoline engine experienced a failure in its headlight cleaning system and windshield washer. The suspected causes were a defective cable connection to the pump or a faulty relay. After inspection and advice to check for leaks or broken tubes, particularly around the Xenon headlight washer pump, the issue was confirmed to be a defective cable connection, which was resolved at a workshop.

Yes, they are Xenon. I haven't spotted any obvious puddles, but I'll take a closer look for dampness or residue. Where exactly is the pump located?

On mine, it was behind the front bumper, near the headlight assembly on the driver's side. Given the symptoms, and that you have Xenons, I'd suggest you go to a trusted workshop. I would have pointed you at a broken tube, but the Xenon setup is a bit trickier.

Thanks. I inspected it and couldn't see any obvious signs, so I took it to the workshop. Turns out you were spot on. Defective cable connection was the cause, and the repair cost was 165€. Thanks again for your help.

I've experienced something similar with my Vectra. Are your headlights Xenon? If so, there might be a leak around the headlight washer pump. Have you checked for any visible signs of fluid?
