Vauxhall Vectra Oil Level Sensor Fault

Hi, I have a 2005 Vauxhall Vectra with a gasoline engine. I'm getting an error message and a warning light on the speedometer, and the oil pressure warning lamp lights up. The error memory shows a faulty oil level sensor signal. I suspect a defective cable or plug. Has anyone experienced this?

I had a similar problem with my Vectra. The error was intermittent, but very annoying. Have you checked the sensor connections for corrosion or damage?

Thanks for the reply. Where exactly is the sensor located? Is it easy to access and inspect the connections myself?

The oil level sensor is usually located at the bottom of the oil pan. Considering the symptoms and that you suspect it might be the cable, I would recommend having a workshop check the entire sensor system to be sure.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop, and it was indeed a faulty connection. Repair cost 95€. Now everything is fine.
