Vauxhall Vectra Oxygen Sensor Heater Failure

My 2005 Vauxhall Vectra diesel has a suspected oxygen sensor heater failure at 38904 km. Error code is stored, check engine light is on, and fuel consumption is up. I suspect the cable or plug. Any ideas?

I had similar issues with my Vectra diesel. Error codes pointed to the oxygen sensor heater circuit. Check the wiring harness for damage, corrosion, or loose connections. Also, check the sensor's ground connection.

I've visually checked the harness, but not done a continuity test. Where's the ground connection, and did you have any diagnostic challenges?

My ground connection was on the engine block near the exhaust manifold. The connector was heavily corroded causing intermittent connectivity. Eventually, the sensor was faulty. Given the symptoms and codes, get a comprehensive diagnostic assessment at a good workshop.

Thanks for the advice. I'll get it checked at a workshop. A faulty sensor seems likely. Estimate is about 95€. Thanks again!
