Vauxhall Vectra power window initialization issue

Thanks for the quick reply! The error message is pretty vague, just says 'window regulator initialization unsuccessful'. I've tried holding the window switch up and down for extended periods, but nothing seems to work. Is there a specific procedure I should be following? Maybe a sequence of button presses or something?

Alright, 'initialization unsuccessful' is the key phrase here. In my Peugeot's case, the reset procedure involved a specific sequence with the ignition and window switches, but it was very finicky. Since you've already tried the basic hold-the-switch method without success, I'm leaning towards suggesting a visit to a workshop. They'll have the proper diagnostic tools to force the initialization or identify if something else (like a faulty window motor) is preventing it. It is unfortunate, but car electronics can be temperamental sometimes.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a local garage, and they managed to re-initialize the window regulators using their diagnostic equipment. Turns out, the system was completely blank after the battery change. Cost me 290€, but at least the windows are working again. Appreciate the help!

Hello there! I had a similar problem with my old Peugeot 307 after the battery died. The windows just wouldn't budge, and the error codes were a nightmare. It seems the system sometimes loses its 'memory' of the window positions and needs to be re-initialized. Does the error message specify anything about a 'window regulator reset' or 'initialization procedure'?
