Vauxhall Vectra radio antenna issue

Radio in my 2002 Vauxhall Vectra, gasoline engine, is giving me trouble. Done 204919 km. I get an error message in the infotainment, and the audio system is dead. I scanned it, and there's an error stored related to antenna signal. Thinking the antenna is buggered. Anyone else had this?

I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane, though it wasn't exactly the same. What kind of error code are you getting? Also, have you checked the antenna ground connection? On the Megane, a loose ground caused all sorts of radio interference.

I didn't note the exact code, to be honest. Where exactly is the antenna ground usually located? Is it easy to get to?

On the Megane, it was behind the head unit. You had to pull the radio out to get to it. However, given it's logging an antenna signal error, and you've checked the obvious, it might be the antenna booster itself that's failed. I'd probably take it to a workshop; they can diagnose it properly with the right tools. I spent ages messing with mine, and it turned out to be a faulty signal amplifier. Saved myself a lot of time and headache in the end.

Appreciate the insight. Sounds like chasing a dodgy ground might be a waste of time. Dropped it into the workshop, and you were spot on - antenna defective. Repair cost me 255€.
