Vauxhall Vectra Washer Fluid Warning

My 2006 Vauxhall Vectra diesel keeps throwing a 'washer fluid low' warning, even though the reservoir is full. The windshield washer system isn't working either. Error is stored in the error memory. Any ideas?

Interesting. Faulty sensors can be tricky. Have you checked the spray jets themselves for any blockages? Sometimes a simple blockage can trigger false readings, especially if the system detects a pressure drop when trying to spray. Worth a look before diving into more complex diagnostics.

Spray jets are clear. Could it be the pump motor? I've had pumps fail before on other cars.

Indeed, the pump motor is a distinct possibility. Given the stored error code and the system's complete inoperability, a failing or completely failed pump motor aligns with the symptoms you're experiencing. Given the error stored in the error memory, I would advise visiting a workshop to get a complete diagnostic.

You were spot on. It was the pump. Cost me 25€ for a new one, fitted it myself. All good now. Thanks!
