Vauxhall Vectra Wiper Failure
Summary of the thread
The windshield wipers on a 2004 Vauxhall Vectra stopped working, with a diagnostic tool indicating an error in the wiper circuit. The initial suspicion was a faulty cable or connector. A suggestion was made to check the wiper motor wiring harness for corrosion or damage, and to consider the possibility of interference from the cruise control system. Ultimately, the issue was resolved by replacing a corroded connector block near the wiper motor, restoring the wipers to working order.

Thanks for the tip! Yes, it has cruise control, but no rain sensor. You think the cruise control could be the culprit? Is the wiring harness difficult to access?

On my Peugeot, the cruise control module was somehow interfering with the wiper circuit. No idea why, but disconnecting it temporarily fixed the wipers. I'd say it's worth a shot. As for the wiring harness, it depends on the car. It might be easier just to take it to a workshop. I know it sucks but it's a possibility.

Cheers! Bit the bullet and took it to the shop. Turns out a connector block near the wiper motor was corroded. New connector and a bit of cleaning, and it's all working again. Cost me 95€, all in. Thanks for your help!

Hey! I had a similar thing happen on my old Peugeot 307. Wiper motor just died. Have you checked the wiper motor wiring harness for any corrosion or damage? Also, does your Vectra have cruise control or a rain sensor? Sometimes issues with those can mess with the wipers.
