Vectra AC and Temperature Sensor Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Vauxhall Vectra with a diesel engine is experiencing issues with the air conditioning system, indicated by a warning light and error code. The problem is suspected to be related to a faulty temperature sensor on the heat exchanger. It is suggested that the defective sensor may also affect the air conditioning control unit. The recommended solution is to have both the sensor and control unit checked and potentially replaced by a professional workshop to resolve the issue.

Yeah, the error code does point to the heat exchanger temp sensor. The air con unit being faulty was also something I had in mind. Did you end up replacing the sensor itself, or was it something else entirely?

In my case, the sensor was the culprit, but the garage said it triggered something in the AC control unit. They recommended doing both to be safe. Honestly, just get it checked out by a decent workshop, it'll save you the headache.

Thanks for the insight. Took it to the workshop. Turns out the air conditioning control unit was indeed defective due to the faulty sensor. Cost me 980€ for the repair. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Vectra, though it was a few years back. Was the error code pointing specifically to the heat exchanger temperature sensor? Could also be a dodgy air conditioning control unit messing things up.
