Vectra AC Compressor Failure

I own a 2007 Vauxhall Vectra diesel. The A/C compressor has stopped working. The air conditioning system does not switch on, and naturally, it no longer cools. There is an error stored. I checked the belt tensioner. Any ideas?

Sounds like a frustrating issue. Is the compressor actually getting power? Have you checked the A/C relay switch and the refrigerant level? A leak could cause the compressor to shut off. Just throwing out some ideas.

How can I test the A/C relay switch to see if it is defective?

Testing relays can be tricky without the right tools. However, your symptoms, especially with an error code, do point to something more than just a simple relay. Undervoltage could be the culprit which needs proper diagnosis. Honestly, at this point, I'd recommend a workshop visit. They have the gear to properly diagnose HVAC system problems.

Thank you for the advice. It turned out to be due to undervoltage as you suggested. Cost me 240€ to repair.
