Vectra automatic transmission fault

Hi, I've got a 2001 Vauxhall Vectra diesel. Recently, the transmission indicator light and check engine light come on sometimes. The automatic transmission seems to be in emergency mode. Shifting isn't smooth; the gearbox slips and shifts badly, with grinding noises sometimes. The diagnostic system shows a possible fault related to the radiator oil pressure. I think it might be a bad cable or plug. Anyone seen this before or have any ideas?

Radiator oil pressure issue on a Vectra? That's unusual. Is the coolant level okay? Any leaks? Check for coolant in the transmission fluid – that would be a bad sign. If it's electrical, check the transmission control module (TCM) connector for corrosion or damage.

Thanks. Where is the TCM connector, and how do I check it for corrosion or damage? Also, how do I check for coolant in the transmission fluid?

The TCM is usually near the transmission, sometimes under the battery tray or behind the glove box. It's a multi-pin connector. If you aren't comfortable identifying it or checking for coolant contamination in the transmission fluid, best to take it to a shop. Given the symptoms, it sounds like a faulty connection as you thought.

Thanks. I took it to a local shop. It was a faulty connector, as I suspected. The repair was 95€, including parts and labor. Thanks for the help.
