Vectra Cruise Control Failure

Hi, my 2005 Vauxhall Vectra diesel's cruise control has stopped working at 62949 km. There's an error stored in the memory, but the cruise control simply doesn't engage. I've checked the obvious – dashboard light comes on, but nothing happens. Any ideas?

Sounds frustrating! Had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane. Turned out to be a dodgy connection in the steering wheel. Cruise control wouldn't work, and it threw an error code. Yep, steering wheel was the culprit. Honestly, I couldn't pinpoint the exact issue myself. I'm no mechanic! But the workshop found a defective plug connection. If you're not comfortable tracing wires, I'd recommend getting it checked. Could save you a lot of time and frustration. Sometimes it's better to let the pros handle the spaghetti wiring under the hood.
