Vectra Overheating Map Thermostat Suspected

My 2007 Vauxhall Vectra (gasoline engine) is overheating and takes ages to reach normal temperature. It's done 74977 km. Could it be the thermostat or cooling circuit motor?

Sounds like a thermostat issue. Does your cooling fan run constantly, even from a cold start?

No, the cooling fan isn't constantly running. Could the map thermostat be the problem? How urgent is the repair?

It does sound like the map thermostat. Based on your symptoms, it's likely defective. Continuing to drive with this issue can lead to further engine damage. I'd recommend getting it checked by a mechanic ASAP.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a workshop, and you were right. The map thermostat was defective and had to be replaced. Total repair cost was 350€.
