Vectra Reduced Engine Power Fault Code

My 2003 Vauxhall Vectra with a gasoline engine has 213922 km on the clock. I'm getting reduced engine power and there's an error stored. I scanned it, fault code detected. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane, though the fault code was different. Reduced power is usually a symptom of the engine going into 'limp mode' - that's when the car reduces engine power to prevent further damage. Did you recently have any work done?

No recent work. I had a chip tuning performed a while ago. You think that could be the issue?

Yes, that's probably it! In my case, it turned out a third-party chip tuning was the culprit, causing all sorts of weird readings. The 'chip' basically modifies the engine control unit (ECU), which manages how the engine works, so if it is faulty, the readings can be inaccurate. I would recommend going to a workshop.

Thanks! I took it to a workshop. They confirmed the faulty chip tuning. Cost me 180€ to get it sorted.
