Vectra system readiness check incomplete

I've got a 2000 Vauxhall Vectra diesel with 187841 km on the clock. Recently ran an OBD2 diagnostic and now I'm getting a 'System readiness check incomplete' error, with a stored error in the memory and a message showing up on the speedometer. Anyone seen this before?

I had something similar on my Vectra. Was the diagnostic tool maybe a cheap one? I remember reading somewhere that some of these can mess with the car's computer. Did you try clearing the error codes?

The OBD2 reader was a generic one, yeah. I cleared the code, but the error comes back after a short drive. Any idea what's causing the 'System readiness check incomplete' issue?

Sounds like the same problem I had. It seems the OBD readiness got messed up and the ECU needs to be reset. I ended up taking mine to a workshop; they sorted it quickly. I think they just did a computer reset.

Thanks for the tip! Turns out it was exactly that - the OBD readiness flags hadn't been properly reset after the diagnostic. A quick computer reset did the trick, and cost me absolutely nothing! Appreciate the help.
