Vectra tailgate hall sensor fault

I had a similar issue with my Vectra. Same symptoms: 'Error stored' and 'Tailgate doesn't open'. Did you check the sensor wiring? These hall sensors often fail with age.

I mean the wiring and plug directly at the tailgate hall sensor. Mine was a broken wire in the loom where it flexes. I'd suggest a workshop for a proper diagnosis to avoid causing more damage.
