Vectra tire pressure sensor issue

I've got a 2001 Vauxhall Vectra with a gasoline engine and I'm having trouble with what I suspect is a tire pressure sensor. The car has about 171138 km on it. I keep getting a 'Tire pressure too low' warning, and an error message pops up in the speedometer. I also checked and there's an error stored in the error memory related to it. I've checked the tire pressure with a pressure gauge, and it's fine. Could it be the sensor itself?

Hey, I have a Vectra too, and I had a similar issue not too long ago. The error message and everything. Did you check all the tires, including the spare?

Yep, checked all tires. Pressure's good across the board. When you had the issue, was it intermittent at first, or constant? I'm wondering if it might just be a dying battery in the sensor. I read somewhere that's a common problem.

Mine was pretty constant once it started. If you suspect the sensor battery, it's probably worth getting it checked out properly. It might be a pain, but maybe get it checked out by a workshop, just to be sure.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was the sensor. The battery was dead. Ended up costing me about 280€ to replace the sensor and air valve. At least the error is gone now!
