Veloster AC and Temperature Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Hyundai Veloster owner is experiencing an issue where the air conditioning won't turn on, and an error message related to the temperature sensor heat exchanger appears on the speedometer. Despite checking coolant levels, the problem persists. A similar case revealed that the actual issue was a defective air conditioning control unit, not the sensor itself. Replacing the AC control unit resolved the problem.

Thanks for the reply! No performance issues that I've noticed, everything seems to be running smoothly besides the AC not working and the error messages. Just to be sure, was it definitely the temperature sensor heat exchanger in your case, and how did you end up fixing it?

Alright, so in my situation, they initially thought it was the sensor, but after some digging, it turned out the air conditioning control unit itself was defective. I know it sounds strange, but that’s what fixed my problem. Given your symptoms, it might be worth having them check that out. Definitely sounds like a trip to the shop is in order.

Thanks so much for the info! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on - it was indeed the AC control unit. Ended up costing me 980€, but at least it's fixed now. Really appreciate your help!

Sounds familiar. I've had a similar problem with my Veloster. Same symptoms, error message, AC refusing to play ball. I initially suspected a coolant leak, but everything seemed sealed up tight. Did you notice any performance issues besides the AC?
