Veloster Engine Stalling IAC Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Hyundai Veloster experienced engine stalling at idle, with a check engine light indicating an idle air control (IAC) valve issue. The problem was suspected to be caused by a heavily contaminated intake. A workshop confirmed the diagnosis, cleaned the intake, and replaced the faulty IAC valve, resolving the stalling issue.

Yes, there was an error code related to the idle air control valve. Does this confirm your suspicion of a dirty throttle body, or could there be other factors involved?

Based on your description, especially the error code, it does sound like the idle air control valve is faulty, likely due to intake contamination. While it could be other things, the IAC valve is the prime suspect. I'd recommend a visit to a workshop for a proper diagnosis and cleaning/replacement. It cost me about 425€ for the repair.

Thank you for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right. The idle air control valve was the problem, and the intake was heavily contaminated. They cleaned everything and replaced the valve. Now it runs perfectly.

I drive a Veloster myself, and I had similar stalling issues. Was there also an error code stored? If so, what was the error code? A dirty throttle body can cause all sorts of headaches.
