Veloster Transport Mode Active Message

I have a 2017 Hyundai Veloster with a gasoline engine, and it's showing some very strange behavior. The car has about 175959 km on it. I keep getting a 'Transport Mode Active' message, and it seems to be causing general electrical malfunctions. My navigation system is also completely non-functional. I'm assuming it's because the car thinks it's new, but I've had it for years. I've checked the key fob battery, and that seems fine. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas what I can do?

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Hyundai Veloster owner is experiencing a 'Transport Mode Active' message, leading to electrical malfunctions and a non-functional navigation system. The issue may stem from the car mistakenly being in transport mode, which is typically used for new vehicles. A diagnostic check is suggested to identify any error codes, and professional assistance is recommended to properly diagnose and resolve the issue. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by having the dealer disable the transport mode, with no repair costs incurred.

I had a similar issue with my Veloster. The 'Transport Mode Active' message popped up out of nowhere, and it caused all sorts of weird electrical problems. I remember reading something about this a while back. Have you tried a diagnostic check to see if any error codes are showing up? It might give you a clue as to what's causing the problem.

Thanks for the reply! A diagnostic check sounds like a good idea. Where do I even begin with that? Do I need some special equipment, or is there a way to do it myself? If I go to a mechanic, what should I expect them to do? And did the error go away after the diagnostic check?

I wouldn't recommend messing with the car electronics yourself unless you know what you're doing. I ended up taking mine to a workshop. They ran a full diagnostic check and found some software issues. They performed a software installation, but the 'Transport Mode Active' message and other errors kept showing up. The problem was not resolved through software installations. You're probably better off taking it to a professional who can properly diagnose the issue.

Thanks for the advice. I'll take it to a workshop and have them run a diagnostic. I appreciate you sharing your experience! Turns out I was right. The transport mode was still active and the dealer had to disable it. No repair costs occurred.
