VelSatis engine stalling rough idle
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Renault VelSatis with a gasoline engine is experiencing rough idling, stalling, and jerking during acceleration, accompanied by a check engine light. The suspected cause is a defective fuel pressure sensor or a bad cable or plug connection. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the issue was indeed with the fuel pressure sensor connection, which was repaired, resolving the problem.

Yes, exactly! It feels like the engine is starving for fuel, especially when accelerating from a stop. Could it be the fuel pump or maybe the fuel injectors?

Could be, but in my case, it turned out to be exactly as you guessed. I suggest you check the sensor and wiring, and if you're not sure, take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right; it was indeed the fuel pressure sensor connection. Repair cost me 95€. Runs like new now!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my VelSatis, though I never checked the cable. Does it feel like it's struggling to get fuel?
