VelSatis engine stalling rough idle

Hi, I have a 2004 Renault VelSatis with a gasoline engine. Recently, the check engine light came on, and the engine is running rough, sometimes stalling at idle. Also, it jerks when accelerating. I suspect a defective fuel pressure sensor, maybe a bad cable or plug connection. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my VelSatis, though I never checked the cable. Does it feel like it's struggling to get fuel?

Yes, exactly! It feels like the engine is starving for fuel, especially when accelerating from a stop. Could it be the fuel pump or maybe the fuel injectors?

philipp_hunter4

Could be, but in my case, it turned out to be exactly as you guessed. I suggest you check the sensor and wiring, and if you're not sure, take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right; it was indeed the fuel pressure sensor connection. Repair cost me 95€. Runs like new now!
