VelSatis IAT Sensor Issue

I'm having trouble with my 2009 Renault VelSatis diesel. The check engine light is on, and the car feels like it's lost power. A diagnostic tool shows an error related to the intake air temperature sensor. The engine also runs a bit rough sometimes. The car has 77868 km. Could a faulty IAT sensor really cause all these issues?

I had a similar problem with my VelSatis (though a different year). Reduced power and the engine light were the first signs. Was the error code specifically pointing to the intake air temperature sensor? It can cause rough running if the engine isn't getting the right air/fuel mixture.

Yes, the diagnostic tool specifically mentioned the intake air temperature sensor. Did replacing the sensor fix the problem for you? Was it a difficult job to do?

In my case, replacing the IAT sensor did resolve the issue. However, I would suggest you have a workshop check it. These sensors sometimes trigger other underlying problems. It's always best to be on the safe side, especially with engine issues.

I took it to a mechanic, and you were right – it was the IAT sensor. They replaced it, and the car is running perfectly again. The total cost was 155€. I appreciate your help!
