VelSatis tire pressure sensor fault

I'm having a tire pressure issue with my 2004 Renault VelSatis, diesel engine. The display says tire pressure too low, and I get an error message in the speedometer. The error memory also stores a fault. Mileage is at 62351 km. I'm suspecting a sensor fault due to an empty battery. Anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my VelSatis. What does the pressure gauge say when you manually check the tires?

I haven't checked manually yet, but all tires look fine. Is that what you experienced? Do you remember what the error code was? And if it was actually the sensor battery?

Yes, that's exactly what happened to me. Visually they seemed ok, but the error persisted. Never checked the code, though. Ended up being the sensor. Probably the battery, yeah. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked out properly.

Appreciate the insight. Will take it to the shop. It was indeed the tire pressure sensor, battery empty as suspected. Cost me 280€ to replace. All good now!
