Venue engine power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Hyundai Venue with a gasoline engine experienced a significant drop in engine power, particularly during acceleration, accompanied by the check engine light turning on. The issue was suspected to be related to the throttle valve or possibly the accelerator pedal module. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the throttle valve was the problem, and after repair, the vehicle's performance returned to normal.

I do notice some engine idling issues, especially at traffic lights it feels rough. Response delay too when accelerating after being idle. So, the throttle sensor could be the culprit? How was it diagnosed in your Astra?

Yes, exactly like my old Astra! It really sounds like the throttle is the issue. But I'm not a mechanic, so I would highly suggest you take your Venue to the workshop. The replacement cost will depend on your car, but in my case it was about 150€ including the labour

I took it to the workshop, and it was indeed the throttle valve. The repair came to 265€, but the car runs like new again.

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, though yours is much newer. Check engine light and sluggish response, like the car was breathing through a straw. In my case, it was a faulty throttle position sensor. Did you notice any issues with engine idling or any delays when you press the accelerator?
