Voltage on the connector, you say? Where exactly is that located, and how would I go about checking it? I'm not super experienced with auto electrics, so ELI5, please.

The connector is right at the base of the windshield washer fluid reservoir, where the heater is plugged in. You'll need a multimeter to check the voltage while the heater is supposed to be running (e.g., when you activate the windshield washers). But honestly, if you're not comfortable with that, just take it to a workshop. From my experience, a defective cable or plug connection can be tricky.

Thanks! I'll check the connection, but I think I'll probably bring it in. My gut feeling is that it's the cable or plug connection, like you said, and I'm not confident enough to fix it myself. The car workshop found the defective cable, as suspected! Cost me 95€ to fix. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Venue. Frozen nozzles and a weird error. Could be a defective cable or plug connection to the heater itself. Before you tear everything apart, check the voltage on the connector to the heater. If that is fine, it may be the heater itself.
