Venue Windshield Washer Problem

I've got a 2019 Hyundai Venue, gasoline engine, that's throwing a windshield washer fluid low warning on the dashboard, even though the reservoir is full! I'm getting an error stored in the error memory. The windshield washer system no longer works. Any ideas? Checked the fuses, they seem fine.

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Hyundai Venue is experiencing a windshield washer fluid low warning on the dashboard despite a full reservoir, and the washer system is non-functional. The issue may be caused by a faulty washer pump motor, a wiring problem, or a sensor malfunction. Checking if the motor is running when activated can help diagnose the problem. Ultimately, the washer pump motor was identified as the culprit and replaced, resolving the issue.

Interesting issue! I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 Series. Washer fluid light was on constantly, and the wipers wouldn't spray. Turned out to be a dodgy washer motor. Have you checked if you can hear the motor running when you try to activate the windshield washer?

Good shout! I haven't actually listened for the motor. Whereabouts is the washer motor located on the Venue? Is it easy enough to get to, or am I going to be wrestling with the wheel arch liner for half the day?

On my 3 Series, the washer motor was attached to the washer fluid reservoir itself, accessible from the wheel arch. I think you will find the same location on your Hyundai Venue. I'd still recommend getting it checked by a professional, they'll have the right diagnostic tools to pinpoint the fault. It could be a wiring issue, the pump itself, or even the sensor. But yes, that motor is a prime suspect. Going to a workshop might be the easiest way to handle this.

I appreciate the insight. Took it to my local shop; as you suspected, it was the washer pump motor! Seems they are quite sensitive. 25€ later and the windshield washer and dashboard light are finally working again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
