Yeah, the code nailed it: torque converter lock-up clutch performance. I'm thinking it's properly broken. Your symptoms sound almost identical. Did you get the same error code? And what did it end up being for you?

Ah shoot, that sucks. I don't remember the exact code, but yeah, it was something about the torque converter too. I didn't mess around with it myself, just took it straight to a reputable workshop. Best to get it checked by pros.

Appreciate the input. Looks like I'm heading to the shop as well. Confirmed today: automatic transmission converter defective, needs replacement. Quoted 2120€! Ouch! Thanks again for sharing your experience.
