Interesting! You mentioned checking the cable and plug connections. Were they obviously loose or damaged, or was it more subtle? I'm not super familiar with the steering column assembly, so any pointers on where to look would be appreciated.

In my case, it was a corroded connector pin that was easily spotted. Given the stored error and lack of adjustment, it's worth a look. If you're not comfortable poking around, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose the issue properly. However, with the right tools it can be done yourself, though a workshop visit is likely safer.

I took your advice and had a mechanic check the cable and plug connections. Turns out, it was indeed a defective plug connection, just like you suspected! Repair cost was 95€. I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!

That's a bummer! I had a similar problem with my 2018 Audi A4. The electric seat adjustment packed in and did the same thing - error code and zero movement. Have you tried checking the cable and plug connections to the steering column adjustment motor? That was the culprit in my Audi.
