Venza electronic parking brake malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Toyota Venza owner reported an issue with the electronic parking brake not engaging or disengaging, accompanied by a warning light and an error code related to the parking brake system. The problem was suspected to be either a system glitch or a faulty brake sensor. Another individual with a similar experience suggested that the issue might be due to a defective electric motor in the brake calliper. Upon consulting a mechanic, it was confirmed that the electric motor in the brake calliper was indeed defective, and the issue was resolved by replacing it.

Yes, the error seems to be related to the brake calliper. Did you have the same error message? Do you think it's pointing towards the electric motor in the brake calliper being defective?

That's exactly what it was in my case. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop. Could save you a headache.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to a trusted mechanic, and you were spot on. Turns out the electric motor in the brake calliper was indeed defective. Ended up costing me 505€ to get it fixed. I really appreciate the help!

I had something similar happen on my Venza. Is the error message pointing towards the brake calliper itself?
