Venza electronic parking brake malfunction

Hi, I have a 2011 Toyota Venza with a gasoline engine, and the electronic parking brake has gone haywire. The handbrake simply doesn't engage or disengage, and there's a persistent warning light. I hooked it up to a code reader, and it's showing an error related to the parking brake system. Could it be a system glitch, or is it more likely a brake sensor playing up? Has anyone else experienced this with their Venza?

I had something similar happen on my Venza. Is the error message pointing towards the brake calliper itself?

Yes, the error seems to be related to the brake calliper. Did you have the same error message? Do you think it's pointing towards the electric motor in the brake calliper being defective?

That's exactly what it was in my case. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop. Could save you a headache.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to a trusted mechanic, and you were spot on. Turns out the electric motor in the brake calliper was indeed defective. Ended up costing me 505€ to get it fixed. I really appreciate the help!
