Venza engine issues
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Toyota Venza hybrid was experiencing engine issues, including a check engine light, reduced power, poor response, a whistling noise during acceleration, stalling at idle, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected causes were a boost leak or turbocharger problems. After consulting with others, it was suggested to check the turbo actuator and pressure sensors. The issue was ultimately identified as a defective electrical bypass valve, which was replaced, resolving the problems.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't really checked those specifically. Where exactly is the turbo actuator located, and is it something I can easily inspect myself? I'm not super mechanically inclined, but I can usually handle basic stuff.

Honestly, I'm not the best to give you detailed instructions. My issue turned out to be a defective electrical bypass valve. I'd advise taking it to a trusted mechanic; it might save you some headaches. It cost me around 250€.

Thanks so much for the advice! I really appreciate it. I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on – it was the electrical bypass valve! They replaced it, and everything seems to be running smoothly now. Cost me about 250€ too. Cheers!

Wow, that sounds frustrating! I have a Venza too, although I can't remember the exact year. I had similar symptoms a while back - the hissing noise and the power loss were the biggest clues for me. Have you checked the turbo actuator or any pressure sensors?
