Venza exhaust sensor issue

Thanks for the quick response! Exhaust leaks, huh? The mechanic only mentioned the sensor. Is it possible that a leak could trigger the sensor warning? I'm just trying to understand everything before I commit to the repair. I'm not a car expert, you know?

Definitely! A leak messes with the pressure readings, which then throws off the sensor and triggers the light. If it's just the sensor, great! But a leak could be trickier. Honestly, with smoke involved, I'd get a second opinion from a trusted workshop. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks so much for the advice! I took it to another workshop, and they confirmed it was indeed the exhaust back pressure sensor. The part plus labor came out to around 245€. Replaced it, and everything's running smoothly now. I really appreciate your help!

Whoa, smoke? That doesn't sound good! I had a similar problem with my old Volvo XC60, although it was a gasoline engine. The warning light and sluggish acceleration were dead giveaways. Could be the sensor, but did they check for any exhaust leaks too?
