Haywire how? Completely blacked out, or just showing the wrong gear? 'Cause mine is just blank. Did you ever figure out exactly what was causing it? Was it something major?

Yeah, mine was acting all glitchy, showing random gears or nothing at all. Turned out to be a defective control unit. Best get it checked at a workshop to be sure it's the same issue.

Control unit, huh? That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the tip; I'll get it to a shop ASAP. Turns out you were right; after checking the error memory the mechanics confirmed the control unit was broken. Cost me around 1000€ to get it repaired, but at least the car is running smoothly again!

Sounds familiar. I had similar weirdness with my Venza’s shifting a while back. Is the digital display going haywire too?
