Venza Intake Air Temperature Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Toyota Venza hybrid exhibited a check engine light and reduced engine power, with diagnostic tools indicating a faulty intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. The sensor was providing implausibly high temperature readings, even when the engine was cold. The issue was resolved by replacing the defective IAT sensor, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Thanks for the quick response! I did check the temperature reading. It seems way off, consistently reading super high even when the engine is cold. Does this sound like the same problem you had? Did replacing the sensor fix it completely?

That aligns with the symptoms I encountered. Given the implausible readings, a defective IAT sensor is highly probable. I recommend consulting a qualified technician for a thorough inspection and sensor replacement.

Took it to the shop as you suggested. Turns out the IAT sensor was indeed faulty. Replaced it for 155€. Runs like new again! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I also own a Venza. A similar issue arose with my vehicle. Have you checked the temperature reading from the IAT sensor using your diagnostic tool? Is it within the normal operating range, or does it appear to be reading excessively high or low?
