Venza transmission issues
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Toyota Venza owner reported erratic transmission behavior, including implausible shifting and emergency mode activation. Initially suspecting an undervoltage issue, the battery was ruled out as the cause. Another owner with similar experiences suggested checking the transmission oil, which was found to be prematurely worn out. Replacing the transmission oil resolved the problem, confirming it as the root cause.

I did check the transmission oil level, and it seemed within the normal range. To clarify, was your issue specifically a transmission oil problem, or was there something else causing it?

In my case, it turned out the transmission oil was indeed worn out prematurely. I'd suggest getting the transmission checked out by a workshop; they'll probably be able to pinpoint the exact cause and save you some headache. Cost me around 240€, as far as I remember.

Thanks for the tip! Took it to a workshop as you suggested, and you were spot on - the transmission oil was the culprit. Got it replaced for 240€ and it seems to have fixed the issue. Appreciate the insight!

I had something similar happen with my Venza, though the mileage was lower when it started. Those symptoms sound awfully familiar. Was the hydraulic fluid level okay when you checked? A slipping transmission can behave that way.
