The battery is relatively new, about a year old. I haven't specifically tested the voltage regulator, but the diagnostics seem to point towards the battery sensor itself. Did replacing your sensor resolve the problem entirely, or were there further complications?

Replacing the sensor did the trick for me, and it sounds like you're on the right track. Although I am unsure of your comfort level, messing with electrical components can be dangerous. Might be best to take it to a workshop. The good news is that it shouldn't be too expensive, hopefully.

I went ahead and had the battery sensor replaced. The final bill came to 315€, but now my Veracruz is starting up perfectly. Thank you again!

I had a similar issue with my Veracruz, though I can't recall the exact year. Weak battery and flickering lights are dead giveaways. Have you checked the voltage regulator? Also, how old is your battery?
