Veracruz PTC Heater Problem
Summary of the thread
The 2009 Hyundai Veracruz diesel is experiencing issues with the PTC heater, leading to poor performance during cold starts, error codes, and increased fuel consumption. The problem may be due to a faulty electric auxiliary heater or an electrical fault in the connections to the PTC heater. Checking the wiring harness to the PTC heater is suggested, but a workshop visit might be necessary for a proper fix.

Yes, the cold air is very noticeable. When you say electrical connections, are you talking about the wiring harness to the PTC heater, or somewhere else? More detail would be great. I appreciate the suggestion and I'll check those areas.

Yep, I meant the harness going to the PTC heater itself. I fiddled with it a bit, but honestly, I ended up just taking it to a workshop. Saved myself a lot of headache. The eventual repair cost me 350€, but that was for a new heating element.

Thanks for confirming and sharing your experience. Sounds like a workshop visit is needed for this PTC heater issue. Thanks for the repair cost info; that's a good benchmark. I'll take it in to get it fixed.

I have a Veracruz too, though I don't remember the build year. Sounds like the same problem I had last winter. Cold air blowing when it should be warm, right? Check your electrical connections to the blower motor and that PTC heater, could be an electrical fault somewhere.
