Veracruz Stalling at Idle
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Hyundai Veracruz diesel is experiencing stalling at idle and a check engine light, with error codes indicating incorrect fuel composition. Initial checks, such as the fuel cap, did not resolve the issue. Suggestions included using fuel additives, which provided temporary relief but did not fix the problem. The ultimate solution was found at a workshop, where a defective cable connection in the fuel system was identified and repaired, resolving the issue.

Yep, fuel trim errors all over the place. You mentioned a similar issue – did yours stall too? And if it was fuel-related, did you get any engine knock? I'm trying to narrow down if it's genuinely bad fuel or a sensor gone rogue.

Oh yeah, she'd cough and splutter at lights, sometimes completely die. No major knocking, but definitely wasn't smooth. TBH, I chucked in some injector cleaner and it helped a bit, but the light kept coming back. Eventually, I bit the bullet and took it to a workshop – turned out to be faulty wiring in my fuel system. Just my two cents.

Appreciate the insight. Fuel additives didn't really solve it for me either. Took it to the shop. Turns out a defective cable connection was the root cause. 95€ and now all is well.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Veracruz. Was the error code something about fuel trim or mixture? Have you tried any fuel additives? Cheap and easy thing to try, but might mask a bigger problem.
