Verso boost pressure issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Toyota Verso diesel exhibited issues such as the check engine light, jerking during acceleration, whistling and hissing noises, engine stalling, increased fuel consumption, and reduced power. These symptoms suggested a problem with the turbo system, possibly the boost pressure sensor. After checking the sensor's cable and plug, the issue was confirmed to be a defective connection, which was resolved by replacing it, leading to the car running smoothly again.

No, I haven't checked for leaks around the intake manifold specifically. Is that a common symptom with a bad boost pressure sensor?

Yes, intake leaks are common. Given the symptoms, and that you've checked the sensor connection, I'd recommend getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a defective cable/plug connection to the boost pressure sensor, just like I suspected. They replaced it, and the total repair cost was 95€. Everything is running smoothly now.

Sounds like a boost sensor issue. Have you checked for any obvious leaks around the intake manifold?
