Verso diesel smoke and power loss

Rough idle... sometimes. It's not consistent though. A split hose makes sense. Where should I be looking for leaks on the crankcase ventilation system? I don't want to start pulling things apart.

Inconsistent idle points more to a dodgy valve than just a simple leak. Tracing those tiny ventilation hoses can be a pain. If you're not totally confident, get it to a workshop. Could save you a bigger headache!

I'm going to throw in the towel on this one. Dropped it off at the garage today, and they've confirmed it's the crankcase ventilation valve. 360€ to get it sorted. Thanks anyway!

Smoke and loss of power sounds nasty! Crankcase ventilation issues can cause mayhem. Is it idling rough? Maybe you've got a leak somewhere? I had a similar issue on a different car; turned out a hose had split. Worth checking all the connections and pipes.
