Verso electric steering column fault
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Toyota Verso diesel has a defective electric steering column adjustment, with an error stored in the memory. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Suggestions include checking fuses, wiring harness connections, and specific connectors at the steering column and adjustment motor for damage or corrosion. Thanks. I did check the fuses, and they seem to be fine. I'll retrieve the error code again and re-inspect the wiring harness. Do you know if there are any specific points in the wiring that are prone to failure in this model?

Specific failure points can vary, but the connectors at the steering column and the adjustment motor are common areas to inspect for loose connections or corrosion. Given the electric steering system's complexity, professional diagnostic equipment might be beneficial to pinpoint the fault accurately. Repair at a qualified workshop should not be too expensive.

I appreciate the advice. I followed your suggestion and took it to a workshop. It was indeed a defective plug connection, as suspected. The repair cost me 95€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

That sounds like a plausible diagnosis. Have you checked the fuses and wiring harness connections for any signs of damage or corrosion? Can you confirm if the error code provides any specific details regarding the affected circuit or component?
