Verso fuel filter heater issue

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my 2011 Toyota Verso diesel. It's got about 164,000 km on it. Recently, I've been getting an error code related to the fuel filter heater. The symptoms are reduced engine power, poor engine response, higher fuel consumption and a slightly uneven idle. I've checked the obvious things, like the filter itself, but no luck. Any ideas?

Hey! I had similar issues with my Verso. Is the engine light on? For me, it was also the fuel filter. Check the cable or plug connection of the component. It might be defective.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say "cable or plug connection", do you mean the electrical connector going to the fuel filter heater? Was your Verso doing the same thing with the reduced power and rough idle?

Yep, the electrical connector. Exactly the same symptoms – the power loss was the most annoying. I'd definitely get it checked by a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! I took it to a local shop and they found a bad connection on the fuel filter heater, just like you suggested. New connector and wiring repair cost me 95€, and the car runs like new again!
