Verso Misfire Ignition Coil Issue

The engine stalling does seem more pronounced when the engine is cold, yes. I haven't personally checked the spark plugs, but the vehicle diagnostics did reveal error codes P0300 (Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected) and P0301 (Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected). No recent work has been done on the engine prior to the onset of these issues. Could the ignition coil be the problem, or are there other sensors that might cause these misfires?

Those error codes definitely point towards a misfire issue. Given the symptoms and error codes, a faulty ignition coil is highly probable. But misfires can be tricky. In my case, after a lot of headaches, it turned out to be exactly that. However, I'm not an expert, and you might want to consider taking it to a reputable workshop to confirm the diagnosis. It could save you time and money in the long run.

Following your recommendation, I consulted a trusted workshop. Indeed, it was a defective ignition coil, specifically with a cable connection issue, as suspected. Replacement cost me approximately 95€. The Verso is now running smoothly once again. Thank you for sharing your experience; it proved invaluable in guiding me towards the correct resolution.

Interesting problem. Does the engine stalling happen often, especially when cold? Reminds me of a similar issue I had with my old Opel Insignia, although it was a diesel. The symptoms sound quite familiar. Have you checked the spark plugs, or perhaps had the vehicle's computer scanned for specific error codes? Was there any recent work done on the engine?
