Verso Outside Temperature Sensor Fault

My 2009 Toyota Verso with a gasoline engine is throwing up some odd errors. The error memory says there's a fault with the outside temperature sensor. This seems to be stopping the air con from switching on, and I noticed the spray nozzles were frozen solid the other day. Also, the mirror heating doesn't seem to be working. Mileage is at 131572 km. Suspect it might be a dodgy cable or plug connection. Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2009 Toyota Verso is experiencing issues with the outside temperature sensor, which is affecting the air conditioning and mirror heating functions. The problem may be due to a faulty sensor or a bad cable or plug connection. It is suggested to have the sensor checked professionally, as similar issues have been resolved by replacing the sensor or fixing the cable. The issue was ultimately resolved by repairing the cable for 95€.

Sounds familiar. Had similar gremlins with my old Vauxhall Astra. Outside temp sensor went haywire and messed with the climate control. Worth checking the sensor itself.

Cheers. Did you manage to sort it yourself, or did you end up taking it to a shop?

Nah, gave up messing with it and booked it in. Turned out the sensor was faulty and needed replacing. Probably best to get it checked professionally.
