Verso rear suspension sag

Hi, I'm having an issue with my 2016 Toyota Verso diesel. It's got about 40,000 km on it. Recently, the rear of the vehicle has started to sag, especially on one side and the car won't lift anymore. I'm also getting an error message and the ride feels incredibly bumpy. The error memory mentions something about the suspension. I'm thinking it's the air suspension bellows valve, maybe a leak? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Toyota Verso diesel is experiencing rear suspension sag, particularly on one side, accompanied by an error message and a bumpy ride. The issue is suspected to be related to the air suspension bellows valve, possibly due to a leak. A similar case confirmed that a defective suspension air bag valve caused an air leak, and the recommended solution is to have it inspected and repaired by a professional workshop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey there, I had a similar problem with my Toyota Verso. Not sure if it's the same year, but the symptoms sound eerily familiar. Started with a slight lean, then a bumpy ride, and eventually, it felt like I was driving a lowrider. Is it giving you the feeling that the suspension became completely stiff? It's like the shocks are gone, right?

Exactly! It feels like the shocks are completely gone. Suspension became completely stiff, like driving a brick. The 'lowrider' analogy is spot-on. Did you also have the error message? And if it was the bellows valve, how did you confirm it?

Yep, the error message was the clincher for me. It pointed to the suspension system. Honestly, I didn't dive too deep myself, I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the suspension air bag valve was defective, causing an air leak. Saved myself a headache and potential further damage. I'd recommend doing the same.

Thanks, that's helpful to know. It sounds like I'm headed down the same path. I appreciate you sharing your experience! Booked it in with a local garage and they came back to me with the same conclusion: faulty air suspension bellows valve. Repair cost of 590€, but at least I know what's wrong now.
