Verso Undervoltage Issue

My 2018 Toyota Verso, gasoline engine, is showing undervoltage at 194988 km. Poor starts, system failures, flickering lights, and weak battery when starting. Diagnostics point to a bad battery, but what else could it be?

I had similar issues with my Verso. Are you running a lot of accessories? It might be the battery, but I would also check the alternator's charging output. A bad diode can cause a parasitic drain.

Could you elaborate on the parasitic drain you experienced? Did your diagnostic procedure isolate the specific faulty circuit responsible for the excessive current draw?

I didn't dive that deep, to be honest. I took it to a workshop. They found that the alternator wasn't charging the battery correctly. New alternator, new battery, problem solved.

A technician found a defective battery needing replacement. Total cost was 290€, including the battery and labor. The undervoltage is fixed.
