Honestly, I can't remember the exact fuse location on the BMW - it was a while ago, and those diagrams are never clear anyway. As for the error codes, there were a few related to the central locking system and some generic electrical faults. In the end I took it to my local mechanic and they fixed it pretty quickly, I think that's your best shot.

I appreciate the input. I consulted a workshop and will share the resolution. It was a defective linkage of the electric actuator. Repair cost: 210€.

That's a weird one. I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 series a while back. Fuel door wouldn't open. Started with intermittent failures and then just stopped working altogether. The error codes were all over the place. Did you check the fuse box? It might be something simple like a blown fuse.
